Hello all. This is so informative. I grew up in Portland. I was born in 1960, went to all the Portland schools and graduated in 1978. I am curious as to why the Nike site in Portland was never talked about back then? I knew where the site was and have actually walked up there. This site was not far from where I lived. My Dad and some other family members still live in Portland. My Dad never mentioned any of this while I was growing up. I am going to ask him why.

I remember Martin Matheny and his brother. Also, WO Ivey who was in charge of missile assembly along with Sgt. Hicks. Sgt Montalvo was the A section chief. I was the launcher section chief of B section and Sgt Sam Lupardis was C section chief. I wonder if Martin remembers "the camel?"
