The Fairfield Nike was operational from 1956 thru March, 1961
Types of missiles, Ajax only:   Nike 1B, 2C/30A/12L-A.

The launch site, on Old Dam Road, off Pine Creek, is now a park (below).




What appears to be the remains of the guard shack can be seen on right of the
above photo.






The entrance to the base.


At least one of the original Nike base building is still standing and in use by the
Parks Department.








The IFC or control site, at One Rod Road, is used by a town canine and fire training center (below).


Several of the original Nike Base buildings are still in use.
